Single-Well Test Solutions

Pumping Tests | Step-Drawdown Tests
Slug Tests | Constant-Head Tests

AQTESOLV contains a comprehensive suite of solution methods for analyzing single-well tests. Types of single-well tests include pumping tests with the pumped well as the only observation well, step-drawdown tests, slug tests and constant-head tests (constant-drawdown tests).

Pumping Tests

AQTESOLV includes many solutions for analyzing single-well pumping tests in confined, unconfined, leaky and fractured aquifers. Solutions include methods for analyzing

bulletpumping tests with wellbore storage
bulletpumping tests without wellbore storage (line-source solutions)
bulletstep-drawdown pumping tests

All of the pumping tests solutions in AQTESOLV allow you to simulate constant or variable-rate conditions including uninterrupted and intermittent pumping.

Wellbore storage is an important factor affecting the response in the pumped well that should not be ignored in the analysis of single-well tests. AQTESOLV includes wellbore storage solutions for confined, unconfined, leaky and fractured aquifers. The software also includes diagnostic plots that help you to identify wellbore storage effects in test data.

Step-drawdown tests measure efficiency of a pumping well. AQTESOLV includes step-drawdown test solutions that identify linear and nonlinear well-loss coefficients and well efficiency.
